DO
I HAVE TO REPLACE ALL 4 SHOCK ABSORBERS AT ONCE
?
While it is always best to replace all 4 shocks
at once, there are circumstances that may allow
you to replace just the front or rear 2 shocks
at a time.
1.If you have high rate springs fitted to one
end of your vehicle to cater for heavy loads or
heavy accessories – the higher rate springs will
work the shocks harder and can cause a faster
wear rate.
2.If you have Torsion Bar front springs – these
work shock absorbers very hard and can cause a
faster wear rate
3.If one of your shocks is damaged or leaking –
replace that end of your vehicle first.
4.If a shock absorber has failed under warranty
– the manufacturer’s warranty will be for
replacement of that shock absorber only.
5.If your vehicle needs new shocks and you are a
bit stretched for cash….. Replace the worst pair
first and then you can replace the second pair
in a month or so.
